Since the introduction of the People’s Choice Awards, thousands of votes have been cast by Melbourne commuters supporting the arts and literature. The awards have evolved into a fantastic opportunity for the Melbourne public to encourage creativity in public spaces and champion local emerging talent, so it comes as no surprise that voting numbers increase with each exhibition.
For every exhibition there are three prizes on offer, one for the most popular poem, one for the most popular artwork and one for a randomly selected voter. Not only does one get the chance to walk away with the prestige of being voted the most popular in their chosen craft, but each lucky winner is awarded a $500 prize.
Moving Galleries congratulates past and present winners of the People’s Choice Awards.
