About this Artwork
The installation: Chandelier represents the fragility of the city and its culture, its splendour and decay. It engages with the history of the city and its many laneways, with time, light and fragmentation, and the transformative nature of scale. Photography and the work: When seen through the selected view of a camera lens it is possible to contemplate fragments and frozen aspects of this work, as the object is viewed with a backdrop of the towering building of one of our large financial institutions, seen rising through the space between the two sides of the lane.
