About this Artwork
Duration Works: Product Drawings Series – Aisle 5: was one of fifteen installations created inside a suburban supermarket in 2007. These interventions were documented through photography and moving image investigating the supermarket as a site for physical, spatial, and conceptual investigations within a three-dimensional and spatial practice.
The Duration Works: Product Drawing Series were process driven activities directly referencing Richard Serra’s 1967-68 Verb List. Verbs such as to scatter, to arrange, to cover, of location, of time, etc. were placed in the context of the supermarket exploring the impermanence
of sculpture in the creation of ephemeral installations.
