This is an image from the exhibition Figments 99-07, held recently at 69 Smith Street Gallery. It is part of an ongoing series of photographs of city spaces, landscapes and the figures in them which not only contain their own gentle drama, but also reflect and express internal states.

About James Bryans
James Bryans is a Melbourne-based photographer and artist. He studied photography in the mid-nineties at the Australian College of Photography Art & Communication in Melbourne and the Independent College of Art & Design in Prahran. He also completed the Advanced Diploma of Multimedia at RMIT in 2005, majoring in video. His most recent showings include a video work, which is part of the Voyeur Collective shown in Australia and overseas, and the Figments 99-07 solo exhibition at 69 Smith Street Gallery in Fitzroy. The Figments exhibition was also exhibited at Stills Gallery, Sydney in April and May 2008.
