What worship I have in me
these days is done in these

brown aisles, kneeling to
the green coming through,

saluting sun, singing
psalms of happy industry.

About Anne Carson

Anne M Carson is a Melbourne writer who writes for radio broadcast and publication. An epic poem she wrote on the ending of slavery in ancient Greece was featured on a recent "Poetica" programme on Radio National. She was recently Highly Commended in the Reason Brisbane Poetry prize and shortlisted for the Place and Experience Poetry Competition. She is a trained Social Worker and has worked in a variety of occupations such as youth worker, barista, waitress and receptionist. She has run a couple of small businesses and prizes the entrepreneurial spirit. Currently, she teaches Creative Writing.
