About Carla Sari

Carla Sari came to Australia from Italy in 1967. She learned English in England where she worked as a hospital cleaner and auxiliary nurse. Before migrating to Australia she graduated as a primary school teacher and started a degree at Venice University which she completed at Melbourne University. In Melbourne she taught Italian language and culture and basic English to migrant children. She also did interpreting, translating and consulting for Ethnic Education. For the past twenty years she has dedicated herself to writing short fiction and poetry. Her poetry covers haiku, senryu, tanka, renga, haibun as well as general poetry. She has been published in a variety of journals both here and overseas and in fifteen anthologies. Her main recreation is walking her Corgi dog around the streets of Carlton.
