Rooku
Autumn 2008 Collection
autumn rain -
Victoria Park
weeps rust
this newspaper
belongs
to four strangers
skipping girl
how far do you go
each day?
train travellers
too tongue-tired to talk
like peace in a pod
Luna Park in winter -
on the big dipper
only seagulls scream
moonlit MCG -
a pigeon inspects
mid wicket
windblown leaves
the Living Statue
packs her bag
projector screen
at funeral reads
NO SIGNAL
peak hour rush
along Swanston walk
two grey statues linger
bonfire at the party
people wave away smoke
holding cigarettes
images of yesteryear
at the Old Melbourne Gaol
hang in the stony air
drinking coffee under the heaters,
we make our plans
in froth and smoke
moonlit coastlines -
islands in the sky
drift slowly eastwards
milk spills in the keyboard
computer
goes to sleep
at night this winter
tree shadow on a white wall
where is the moon?
a sign
at the Melbourne Cemetery:
Beware of Wildlife
spring,summer
autumn, winter
on Monday
occasional furniture -
what are you
the rest of the time?
