GOING KRAKENS
My son likes squids -
they’re not super heroes
but Super Orders
or, Cephalopods
lurking in the inky, deep, cold seas
of the Great Southern Ocean.
My son likes the following quote:
“This squid is a really nasty aggressive…
gelatinous blob with seriously evil arms on it”
by Prof O’Shea of New Zealand –
lots of creepy squid squelch down there.
My son’s birthday menu has 2 choices:
For the kids - Squid in the Pond, or,
For the adults - Calamari served in aspic jelly
(with a hint of rock salt).
About this Rooku
Helen’s poem was inspired by her son with Asperger’s Syndrom who cried when the Kraken in Pirates of the Caribbean 2 was killed. It was also inspired by an unhealthy obsession with reading New Zealand websites and a concurrent visit to the Melbourne Aquarium.
