I was fascinated by the range of emotion, wit and commentary conveyed by the performer’s small, wordless gestures. Haiku also works through subtle suggestion, placing the human in relationship with the cycles of the natural world. Even in the city, street trees and street performers are affected by seasonal change.

About Lorin Ford

short bio: Lorin Ford left school early, preferring a 'glamorous' career in hairdressing to her correspondence lessons in small, East Gippsland timber town. Later, she received an Honours degree in Eng. Lit. and subsequently taught high school English and ESL . Her first book of haiku will be published in 2008. (49 words)
