the mobile rang
in an empty carriage -
nobody heard

About this Rooku

There’s nothing more annoying or ubiquitous than people talking on mobile phones on trains. Yet the idea of a lost phone ringing unheard has a kind of chilling, plaintive quality to it. I was also playing with the old philosophical question, “If a tree falls in a forest and no one is around to hear it, does it make a sound?”
