About this Rooku
Thirty five years ago, my best friend, Margaret, and I met occasionally in the city for lunch. We juggled children and part-time jobs to do this as getting together was a highlight in our lives. Our meeting place was the corner of Collins and Swanston Sts. I was always there first and was intrigued by the news vendor on that corner. I’ll never forget the day his wife charged up the street and hit him over the head with her umbrella, accusing him of having an affair with the female news vendor on the next corner.
