all day in the rain
he cries: ‘only four dollars!’
what’s your big issue?
About this Rooku
The sing-song and sometimes theatrical call of ‘Get your Big Issue, only four dollars!’ has been a comforting piece of background music in my life for the past three years. As I walk home on a drizzly winter evening when these guys are still out on the street selling their wares, I think what on earth do I have to complain about? In this poem, I followed the syllabic and line requirements of a traditional haiku, as I enjoy this form of poetry.
