MORNING
Early morning
in my children’s bedroom.
Cold water bottles
like wagging…
WRIST BONES
As my father grew older
felt his sap and his belly thickening
he would bring to the table
a small jar of bones
Chunky, in liquid
two bones, greenish, furred
impossibly fractured…
MOULD
When Noah prayed
You sent him a flood
and charged him with the safety
of all animal…
L TO PAY
before I knew the alphabet
I played freely
mud was for squelching
dog saliva…
If only you could see my face,
you’d know how much
I love your accordion.
